photo of Kyla GroeschelKyla Groeschel (Director): Kyla Todd Groeschel began dancing at the age of three, studying both Highland Dance and ballet. In California, she studied under Norine Harmon and competed for many years, winning numerous awards both nationally and internationally. Prior to her retirement from competition in 1992, she was recognized as the Best Sacramento Area Dancer for five consecutive years at the Sacramento Valley Highland Games and Festival. Today, she serves as the chairperson for the Highland dancing competition at this event. Kyla currently teaches and organizes workshops, competitions and performances in Northern California and regularly travels to prestigious competitions throughout the world with her dancers.
Kyla is a Fellow of the Scottish Dance Teacher's Alliance and has a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Human Services with an emphasis in Physical Therapy.


photo of Megan StrainMegan Strain (Instructor): Megan began Scottish Dancing at the age of seven with Kyla. As a result of her years of hard work and dedication, she has won numerous awards both in the United States and abroad. She has traveled extensively to compete and perform, and these experiences have helped Megan form her world view. Megan is certified through the Scottish Dance Teacher's Alliance and has a Bachelor's of Arts in Early Childhood Education.
